THE PARTY An intimate dinner with Margrit Mondavi at the Big Island’s legendary Mauna Kea Resort. Chef George Gomes Jr. created a mouthwatering menu comprising sustainable meats and produce to complement the selection of Mondavi wines. THE HIGHLIGHTS Chef Gomes’ dishes created a savory ambiance for Mondavi’s discussion of the grape and how husband Robert cultivated his vineyards. She also personalized copies of her husband’s book for guests with a touching hand-drawn hibiscus flower and then penned “Enjoy many harvests of joy” in each tome. Photos by Jason Moore
